How to Recover Shift Deleted Emails from Outlook 2010

Can I retrieve emails from Outlook 2010 Windows based computer, which I have deleted using Shift Delete keys recently? The answer is Yes. You can definitely retrieve the emails deleted from your computer’s hard drive after using Shift + Delete command using Outlook recovery tool. This is because, when the Outlook emails are deleted from the hard drive of your computer, they are not permanently deleted. Windows operating system simply marks hard drive space occupied by the deleted emails as available for reuse. If the Outlook 2010 emails are deleted using only delete option, then they will be available in the “Deleted Items” folder after deletion, but in case of email deletion using Shift Delete key combination, the deleted emails simply bypasses the “Deleted Items” folder. Hence they will not be available in the “Deleted Items” after deletion.

Microsoft Outlook is an e-mail client which serves as a personal information manager. MS Outlook 2010 contains primary components like mail, calendar, tasks, RSS feed, contacts and additional components like meetings, notes and journals. By using Outlook you can share information through internet connectivity and public folders. Outlook 2010 use POP3, SMTP, exchange servers and HTTP accounts which allow you to send and receive messages from many email accounts. For example, if you have a two email accounts like Gmail and Yahoo mail, you can configure both your accounts in one outlook to send and receive emails. Outlook 2010 uses HTML email, Rich text email and Plain text email. MS Outlook 2010 stores all of its information like emails, email folders, contacts, calendar, notes, attachments and other outlook attributes in a single file called PST (Personal Storage Table) file, which is located on your hard drive. You will generally find this PST file under the filenames of outlook.pst or archive.pst. There are instances when you accidentally delete your emails from Outlook 2010 after pressing Shift Delete keys.

Actually, the files are arranged in clusters on the hard drive of your computer system. Outlook emails deleted using Shift + Delete keys, bypass the “Delete” folder and are stored in some unspecified clusters. If you manage to retrieve the deleted emails  before the Windows OS overwrites that part of hard drive with new files using a third party Recovery Software, then you can retrieve all the deleted Outlook emails.

Improper choice of recovery software may lead to permanent loss of emails from Outlook 2010. Step 2: In case you are not aware of PST folder then you need to select "Find PST File" option.

Step 3: After you select the find PST file option then you need to click on "Browse" option to upload the PST file to be repaired as shown in Figure 2.

Step 4:After that you need to select the scanning method and destination location to store the fixed PST file and then click on "Repair" as shown in Figure 3.

Step 5: After the repairing process is completed then you can view the repaired PST files or folders as shown in Figure 4 and evaluate the recovery results.
